Superficial
Now that I've finally liberated myself from the devil (i.e ETS), I need to finally figure out where I'm applying to. I've got about 6 schools I'm pretty sure about (all the well known programs: Yale, Columbia, Stanford, UCSD, UCSF etc.) but I'm still hammering out a list. The weird thing is that I realized that i'm subconsciously judging these schools by how nice their campuses look. It's completely superficial and silly, but I guess if I'm going to be stuck somewhere for 5-6 years (who's looking forward to being 30 by the time they get out of school? yeeeehaw) i want to be somewhere pleasant. And if I'm going to be stuck in a lab for most of those years, I want it to be in a nice building with a view (unless i'm in a basement, always a possibility). Is it so much to ask?
