Hooray for Science

This judge is my hero. If I knew how to contact him I would send him a letter, candy, flowers... I hope it sets some sort of precedent for other cases that have and inevitably will come up about this evolution and intelligent design nonsense going on in so many school districts.

In other news, some other science is making my life terrible. The end of this semester has proceeded in proportion to how excruciating this semester was. It's felt like a lifetime since classes ended only a little over a week ago and this finals period is dragging on forever. I cannot cannot wait for this break. I look forward to sleeping before 4 am for the first time in probably six weeks (or more? I literally can't remember hte last time i did.) All that stands between me and two beautiful, glorious weeks of my first real break since February is the rest of my thesis draft. Oh dear.

Unbirthday!

The 21st Unbirthday party was quite a bit of fun. Kicked it off at Amherst Brewing Company for some moderate drunkenness and finished up with a party in Jenkins for some more drunkenness. Pictures of that and some pictures up from thanksgiving to be found in the pictures link over there on the left.

Now finals and the draft for my thesis are staring me in the face. And what do I do? Ignore them of course. Oh Tiffany, you'll never learn. This weekend won't see much work done either with holiday pops rehearsals friday and saturday, the concert saturday night, and a sunday Candide rehearsal (weekend rehearsals already??) Clearly noone's told the orchestra director that we might die from work the next two weeks. However my week was made when I got my orgo exam back. I needed that grade pretty badly. Now if i can pull off the same miracle on my final, I'm set.

Snow snow snow! is coming. I'm excited. 6-12" in the valley according to some weather reports. How do people live without snow? Not that i do much aside from stomp around in it, but I can't imagine living in some sunny place where winters are 70 degrees with palm trees and shorts during the holidays. Something's wrong if you're not freezing your ass off and knee-deep in snow.

Scratch that

I decided to take down my last breakdown/freak-out post. Not that I'm not as stressed as I said I was, but I figure whining constantly about it doesn't necessarily endear people to me. Ah well, hooray for keeping up appearances.

I turned down seeing harry potter (for the third time..eep, dorky beyond belief i know..) so that I could actually try and get some work done. Naturally I've only read an article-and-a-half the whole time. I kind of figured I wouldn't get any work done anyway, but I decided I couldn't deal with the guilt of knowing I had taken three hours to watch a movie i'd seen two times already instead of at least pretending to work.

Tomorrow evening, two friends (pictured there in the most embarassing photos I possess of them) and I are having a very merry Unbirthday party. We all turned 21 over the summer and spent them abroad or studying for MCATs and were therefore deprived of a real 21st birthday celebration. I'm pretty excited about it, I just hope I can find a top hat some where so I can be a proper Mad Hatter (or bunny ears to be the March Hare).
