Holidays

What is it about graduating from school that makes you want to accumulate lots of college paraphernalia? Since the last few weeks of senior year I've bought way more things that say Amherst College on them than I ever had while I was there. My most recent acquisition: I finally gave in and bought a(n Amherst College) nalgene. My thoughts so far are that it's handy indeed but rather difficult to clean. And I still feel slightly bad about myself for having one. Although Nalgene does make lab equipment, which makes it somewhat better. These musings brought to you by my recent trip to Amherst for homecoming, which was a good bit of fun, as always.

Going home for the four day weekend (actually, I'm supposed to work on friday, I had to use a vacation day in order to make this a four day weekend, darnit McLean!) Should be good; four days at home will be just enough time to stuff myself on delicious food, both chinese and thanksgiving-types, and enjoy family before getting into that phase when you get more frustrated than relaxed by being at home.

We have wild turkeys on the McLean campus for some reason. I see them every once in a while in the parking lot or roaming the fields. Although, I haven't seen them the past few days. I hope they weren't eaten!

Happy turkey day to those of you I don't see over this weekend.

The one about high school

So should I be somewhat insulted that I wasn't invited (via facebook) to my high school 5 year reunion? Despite the fact that I wouldn't ever really consider going to such a thing (awkward much?), I can't help but feel a little unloved. Ah well, seeing this horrific facebook group about my high school (that's right, "Manhasset, we're better than you") makes me feel better that I wasn't invited. Everything that I disliked about Manhasset in one little site.

On a more pleasant note, Amherst homecoming is this weekend! Which coincides nicely with a long weekend. Hooray for legitimate reasons to go back to Amherst.
